CORPORATE LADDER

Loose yourself in the green paper over and over
Through and through it goes in no exits at first
Not all currency is of the color of spring, come to think
Only the dollar, slew of fresh grass if you will
The God infused paper so they claim
Every time it passes your fingers it reminds us of in God we should trust
Each bank note calls the sage, when no green paper laid itself at Jesus’s feet
At his last supper no coins were exchanged, no banknotes rolled up
So loose yourself in all colors of all the currency you touch,
How many thousands of rolls have you held in your hands?
Did it warm your heart or did you forget?
Even then imagine it all collapses tomorrow
In order to keep warm
You’ll watch it all burn
Fire will cook the fresh meat you hunted
With a sparrow, maybe with your bare hands
Absolute void of the green roll
Swiftly arrives a sheer instinct of survival, of a wolf's howl
When do we become well-oiled machines and slaves?
To the colorful paper with all sorts of denominations
The time will come when in middle of splendid mountains
A moose running loose you and an abandoned bus
You will burn the wood first, naturally
The bed frame, the sheets and blankets perishing next,
Alaskan wilderness can prove deadly if you aren’t prepared
Those colors in that paper you hold have a similar stand
But it is not your body that is at stake
Your insides, the tree of life, the roots of any true wanderlust
The very soul of whom you are,
Once you taste the juices of the berries, purple and black
Sweet success melting in your hands
It’d be unheard of,  you inclined to think and state
Unthinkable to utter, a clownish performance at best
To return to the Barcelona streets penniless
Yet free of any constraint of anything
That squeezes you in handcuffs until it draws blood and rubs skin
Puts you in a wheel chair as if you are handicapped
Keep climbing with your eyes and hands,
Lift each layer of the corporate mass
Lust away at the glitter and the over priced,
After all why not
It suits you like a well-made glove,
You have become a salve in your own right,
Willingly, without anyone throwing a swift lasso at your neck
At the downtown dirty bazaar
But believe you me, leashed you are
It may be the color of gold or platinum
It’s as thick of a rope as any farm animal would know to rub its skin
Colored paper rolls in your hand, a king’s portrait
Speak your best, do your worst
Bid your presence null and keep the slave you bought
Happily, thrilled to go on and build
Another pyramid taller then the last.

ONE DAY YOU WILL KNOW

Even if no exchange happens and isolation
Of our souls remain in tact
One day you’ll know
This letter will burn your eyes to slivers

Years in advance you have scheduled your desires
Following the etchings and sketches of your brain
Maps, closely watched trains
One day, one unscheduled stop, a moment of evil clarity
Will bring you back the knowledge of today, of now

Your prey is easily caught in the net of class
Charm, laughter, laps of fun, dead fish netting this eve
This catch, might you admit a slight remorse, not by any chance
And clearly state to the winds listening – my heart was taken
As a fable attempt to clear the path you made
Unable to return, you are frozen still
One moment will melt the debris surrounding the wall

The ways of the world are as clear as a summer day in the Basque country
Water and earth, mud comes undone sliding
And sticking to the keyhole and your fingers
Again and again you try to fit the key into the hole
Slide after slide, try after try
Cannot, it will not cave to your will
To your whim, not at this time

How effortlessly you discard, disarm, and ignore
Your own, theirs and everyone’s dreams
For when you are old and bitter, comfortably swaying in your wrinkles
Sif* in a lovely wooden garden swing
This only weighs in when you are cold
Whether above or in the ground
One day you shall be of the know, of the now.

TWITCHES IN TWILIGHT

Come and lay your slender body next to mine
Release the day’s weight into the night
I feel the first of your many twitch sonatas
Your silky body gives away to a neighbor at hand
Me this time, I pray
Second and third will shortly follow
Tiny explosions of your soul
I know this well
Each night I spent lying next to your sweet, peach-like aromatic skin
You drifted into another world, world of unknown to most
Even to me
Your mind disconnected your body putting up fight galore
To keep
Your endless desire for action, for life, to continue to be awake
Is my only translation of these twitches
Always on the move, never asleep yet soundly unaware of
My hand on your neck, grafting, coding your shapes into memory
Twitching turns into a rhythmic dance
I witness nightly and embrace
The tenacity in which you sleep: I comprehend
You twitch twice into the twilight
Once into my hand, as if I touched an electric wire
I'd say
Shock, and all is quiet now and again until another
Twitch between my breasts when you lay your head
As you turn at a glacial pace
Come and lay your sweet slender body down,
Next to mine, in mind and in thought
Play the tones of an old guitar
I will slide onto your back,
Balance as a corpse and read the letters on the wall straight ahead
Jumping over each other, knowing the next current is but a short count away
Twitches in twilight
How I crave to feel and collect the bundles of life,
Breaks of your energy untapped, unleashed
Come and lay your slender body next to mine
Twitches in twilight are just a reminder
Energy circle now as it is now, two minus one.

LASTLY, YOU ART

So you are content never adorning another wall with your grace
Perhaps you can’t see what I see,
Full of life and desire,
Mastery, misery and will to scan
It’s a ferocious battle of passion versus brain
You’ll sing your song of contentment for years to come and pass
I shan't argue to oppose but I am nothing if not certain your thrill
Is indeed an evolution, letting things pass, as they do in their own time and space,
Short or lengthier journeys and experiences
This matters terribly I say
Till and when you are true to yourself, a version of self you have hidden,
To the fairest of forms not even when you are looking at your own reflection
Not even in the loving arms of the dawn that dwells
You’ll awake with the only notion in your brain,
Thus you have become another, further
Closer yet detached
I no longer fight your choice not to create
Another colorful masterpiece on any surface, skin tight, under and over
My sole wish, you keep a pencil and paper nearby just in case
And motioning to the future is the likes of asking God to save all hungry eyes
Tomorrow’s creation may never arrive; I’ll then find your pencil lying on the floor
And transport my hand into yours for a brief while
Allow me to be another, fused in time
Last piece of the puzzle is never the most important one
The answer lives in the journey
May you never stop, always remain fluid in all ways,
Open as a seashell, which a wave violently turned over
Willing, wanting, if not now and if not ever
Leaving the possibility to become one with your brush
With yourself, a neighbor you pass by.

PRETZELING

I' have always been convinced, pretzels are baked in bed
You don't say, I hear them squeal and kneel as they listen to my claim
Body parts weaving through loops forming the well-known shape
Sweet and salty
Pretzel me some and all the way
As if there is an escape
Push and pull and you’ll
Feel fire within, in a flash, in a nick of time
Sparks rush through the veil between us
Clasping both hands harder, tigher
Just then, a second prior our fingers are searching for a breather,
A millimeter of space
Whilst the lips aren’t seeking, their space
It has been prepped, predetermined, locked in
As a diamond bank in London chooses to be, must be, requires to be
Hips intertwined in the middle, through the side, lie and lay into these
A pure novelty I must admit
One leg grabs the other
Clinching to each other, last day on earth
Notions of life fully lived
Electric current pulsating practically killing all
From bottom to top, bottom to heaven’s ways
Pretzel has been weaved in not so many days
Take away, stay or disappear
Pretzel has been made and there is no escaping.

ASK THE DUST

Why don't you trek to the deepest canyon's peak
Call out your name over and over in vain
Hear the river of echoes floating back your way
Once they are gone, and they will flee
Ask the dust
What you really are
Little pieces of broken dried up flesh
Stuck, hidden, preserved even
Under a tall large yellow rock
No, you don't fear an unknown town
You don't walk away from certain risk or danger
You fear not to climb walls that belong to another
Returning shortly after dusk
Any drug, overdose even if
Waking up with a knife at your throat
No the dust will tell you
This frightens you not a pinch
It is quite a simple bit, I am afraid you'd smirk sire
Just ask the flowing dust
It is a broken heart you fear most
More so then a death wish onto an innocent child
Trust if no one else, it'll settle
And after the shore winds are gone
Whirls of dust speak where they are swept to
And cover your one and only fear
The dusty cloud moves faster than you can see
Or muster to feel
Just pose the query
I promise it'll tell but a simple and quick tale
Ask the whirl in the dust
If you dare.

Only One Beloved

As Rumi said hundreds of moons ago
One and only Beloved
All his fatal love becomes Yours
Through this relentless fire
You’ll possess his Warmth,
The deep realization of self
And be of His touch through all your Movement
Only one that gives all his unparalleled Love
And life and heaps of blinding Light
As for me
A candle and water reflections unite
As young lovers do
Two swallows choose a direction
From flickering fire tracks in the water
Safeharbor this Secret in your Heart
For the One and only Beloved
Appears and arrives only when you Believe
Permit him to wake through your only vessel
Of Life, and
Into the vehicle of your Soul.
One and Only Beloved
May He find You.

Chimes

Another Year we Feasted
In Silence We Hear
The Clearest of Sounds
Hold a Hand of Another
Today, Quiet the noises
Your Other Hand is a free Bird
Employ it with a Great Intention
Too, Insist on the Magnificent Silence
Sit and Share the sights of the bare tree Trunks,
Perhaps covered in Dazzling snow Blankets
Or sit on a White beach
Washing your Toes in the Seashore
In Peace, you'll realize
The Greatest Fortune of the Human kind
The Presence of another's Silence
Alongside Yours
And Then it happens
You'll hear a Chime in the Wind
Two Shells rubbing Against each Other
Two metal shapes Clinging to Sound like a Glue
It is not Only my Wish but also a small Command
Within the Beauty that Exist in You and Around
Chime Away for years To come.

In Bali

A lovely island sprinkled with Hindu temples
How I wish you were here to witness
The white tall waves and the great ocean sounds
The black pearls and quietude
Spelled across the bluest of skies
All the water around me attempting to wash away
My memories
Of you
Every time I see a woman in a sari
I think, almost wishing you’d take a dip into the pool by my feet,
Lonely water drips, footsteps to the villa
I walk alone
Knowing what I ought to know
Seeing what I prefer to recognize
There is no real way to bring you here
To this moment in time
Crystal clear water
Tell me now
If I close my eyes
Will I wake up with you next to me?
And if Not
Will the dreaming stop?
Bali is breathtaking
Even if it has so much less
Then your kind embrace
An island in the middle of my mind
Suits me and you just fine
Temple bells I hear
And it tells me it's time
For a prayer
For I don’t know how
But I can’t seem to give in
Without a small wish
For an hour of your presence
Be it in Bali or floating in the Dead Sea
Be it tomorrow or in five years.

Flesh Awakening

©Jan Saudek

Envision one simple time
Open the door I stand before you bare
Free and afraid, Grab me
Push me closer
To your slim body
Covered in a business man world
As I am Pulsating and Shivering
Ripping through the dress shirt you don’t plan to keep
Buttons fly to say more and faster
Dinner ate the granite floor faster than plates broke apiece
Desire, an old but a new friend today
Burns between as a bare foot touching an orange coal
Bend me over the ottoman, the chair in the way
Force me to obey my body’s instinct to dive
Into a river of sweat, showering of a prey
Turn my flesh into a transient canvas this very night
Create marks and shapes of your hand's presence
Etch in and draw skin under your nails
Slide and run down my back
Throw salt and water
Let it mesh and dissolve
Pull me as if I was falling off a skyscraper
I gush out, I moan, I gasp and become open wide
Through and through and within
Saddle me to be atop, legs swing up high
Graze me with your thighs
Lock me into a hard embrace
Pressing against the counter, impressions are torn into my arms
Let it rip – all that ever was inside you,
Free it through hard strokes, rips, and grinds
As your sweat becomes mine
Your flesh now speaks to mine
If you listen, grab again and too
Become unhinged
Bliss of tired bodies on the cold floor
Short of breath, full of ecstasy, thus life
And life onto death in fever and lust.
